COMMISSION VII DPR COOPERATIVES PJCI TO SUPPORT NTT PROVINCE TO MAKE NTT-JAWA ELECTRIC CORRIDORS

Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI, Sugeng Suparwoto brought the Indonesian Smart Grid Initiative (PJCI), an association experienced in the field of Renewable Energy and Smart Grids to be directly involved in supporting and realizing the initiative launched by NTT Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat to realize Solar Power Plants (PLTS) in Sumba with capacity through 20,000 MW.

As an association that has long been engaged in Renewable Energy and Smart Grids, PJCI also sees the potential of Sumba Island as a producer of solar energy. "For Sumba Island, or NTT Province in general, PLTS can operate for 5 to 6 hours a day. As a comparison, in DKI Jakarta the optimal operation for PLTS is around 3-4 hours a day, "said Eddie Widiono, PJCI's Founder and Chairman of Advisory Board. “We ourselves have internally declared this initiative under the name Sumba for Indonesia, where the impact is good terms of electricity, economy, and related industrial development, it would be great if this initiative was carried out properly." he continued.
