It turns out that Indonesia's natural wealth can really be relied upon to support future life. After nickel, which is now being hunted as the main raw material for the electric vehicle industry for the future, there is one more mineral that is believed to be the next "nickel", namely silica sand or quartz sand. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the amount of silica sand resources is quite large, reaching 25 billion tons with a total ready-to-produce reserve of 331 million tons (RI).
Director General of Minerals and Coal (Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that several companies have expressed interest in developing silica sand which is the main raw material for making PLTS panels. "There has been a lot of talk about silica sand, many companies have expressed interest in silica sand mining. The direction to the manufacture of solar panels. We can see this as one of Indonesia's contributions in the energy transition,"
Would Indonesia's natural wealth be fully utilized in achieving the Net Zero Emission target, by it's silica sand and nickel production? Hopefully it will be a race for the enthusiasm of Indonesian citizens and global institutions in building clean energy together as the one of ASEAN 2023 momentum Indonesia. Invited speakers:
